NARS Holiday 2013 Guy Bourdin Collection

NARS Holiday 2013 Guy Bourdin Collection/Swatches

The wait is officially over: NARS Cosmetics is thrilled to reveal the limited edition NARS Guy Bourdin Holiday 2013 collection. As a child, NARS Founder and Creative Director François Nars discovered Guy Bourdin’s work in the pages of French Vogue. It was then that Nars was first inspired to become a makeup artist. Today François Nars honors Bourdin’s legacy with an entire limited edition collection for Holiday 2013 displaying bold uncompromising color and high-impact finishes in shades that launch us into his intriguing, high-fashion world.

With 17 shades, the Color collection features four nail shades, three blushes (1 may look familiar – Exhibit A is highlighted due to its relevancy), and one new formula seen in the form of five eyeshadows and five lipsticks – the Cinematic formulation was created exclusively for the NARS Guy Bourdin Holiday Collection. Eyeshadows have a velvety soft texture that glides on smoothly for high-impact color and statement-making effects. Cinematic Lipsticks impart brilliant, glossy shine with intense color saturation. Creamy and comfortable, Monoï butter and Vitamin E offer moisturizing and antioxidant/anti-aging properties, ensuring lips look well cared for and colorful. The Color collection launches on October 15 at NARS boutiques and www.narscosmetics.com.

NARS Blush In 'DAY DREAM'

Day Dream is a beautiful peachy pink - I've noticed it's more of a satin blush.
Day Dream on the left & Mississippi Mermaid Shadow on the right.

Foundation: Mac Studio Fix in NC10
Eye Brows: TheBalm Nudetude Palette - Used Sleek
Mascara: Rimmel Lash Accelerator
Blush: Nars Day Dream
Lid Color: Nars Mississippi Mermaid on lid
Liner: Be A Bombshell Thick Marker Liner
Lips: Mac's Ruby Woo

My Impression: Although I've only got to try two of the products from the Guy Bourdin Collection I will most definitely be picking up more of the products. I'm so in love with NARS products especially the ones in this collection. I received Day Dream which is a limited edition blush and Mississippi Mermaid Eyeshadow. Both are highly pigmented. The eyeshadow was a bit powdery with a bit of fall-out, but I think it was a little looser due to shipping. The blush is so pigmented I had to tap off my brush quite a bit to get the color to sheer down. I think NARS blushes are the most pigmented blushes which I like because that means I will have them for a long time without having going through them quickly. The Guy Bourdin collection is very bold great for the Holidays with it's beautiful reds and berries! I can't wait to see the next collections coming up!

Babyliss Pro Curler REview

Babyliss Pro Curler Review

The Babyliss Pro Tourmaline Ceramic Curling Iron is rated #2 on our Best Curling Iron list for one reason alone and it is the price. If price wasn't a factor, this curling iron will for sure be the #1 choice. The Babyliss Tourmaline Ceramic Curling iron emits negative ions and far-infrared heat that brings a number of additional benefits to your hair:

1. Eliminates static electricity 3. Neutralize odors
2. Preserve more moisture within the hair shaft 4. Causes less damage to the hair cuticle

My Impression: I received the Babyliss Pro Curler in the 2in. barrel and my Mommy let me do her hair with the curler for demonstration. First of all this curler I had high hopes for, but it's fallen short and I don't know if it's due to it's size or what, but it's not a total dud. My Mom has pretty long hair and I thought barrel curls would be so beautiful on her and even though it didn't turn out quite like id hoped it's still pretty. I first tried to use a different product on her for curling and had no luck so I started to use the Babyliss and I tried first without hair spray and you would have to hold it a long time before it would even produce the curls pictured above and I just don't think that it's great for the hair. I have shorter hair and I think it does well at putting volume in your roots if you need volume, but that's about it. I also used hair spray and the curls above were produced by that - not that impressive huh? Not to me at least. I do think it curls short hair better like I mentioned and you can see in her bangs picture that the bangs have pretty good volume and curl. It seemed to me like it was too slick on the hair to grab the hair in general - I don't know what was up with this curling iron, but I would not repurchase it.
