How do I know which products will work with my hair type?

Why is the pH level of the product so important?

HBL products are pH balanced and stable to work with your body’s natural Acid Mantel Balance, one of your body’s first lines of defense! Additionally, a high pH opens the hair cuticle allowing color to fall out during the shampooing process while a low pH keeps the cuticle closed so color stays in during the shampoo process. All HBL shampoos have a pH between 4.5 and 5.5.

What are sulfates and why are they bad for hair?

Sulfates are commonly used surfactants (cleansing agents) that can be damaging and irritating to the skin and hair cuticle. HBL shampoos use gentle surfactants that won’t jeopardize the integrity of the hair or irritate the skin.

What is the fragrance of the HBL line?

Our virtually allergen-free fragrance is universal throughout the entire line so the product fragrances won’t compete with each other or your perfumes, lotions, etc.

Is HBL safe for color treated and chemically processed hair?

Absolutely! Because our products are pH balanced and stable and sulfate-free, our products our able to gently cleanse the hair without stripping hair color, opening the cuticle or damaging fragile hair.

What are parabens? Do you use them in your products?

Parabens are used as preservatives and may possibly be linked to various potential health issues. HBL formulas use a healthier alternative to parabens for product preservation.

Can men use HBL too?

Of course! HBL offers something for every hair type, men included! We offer products to address concerns specific to men. Our Rejuvenator is perfect for addressing fine and thinning hair, hair loss and slow-growing hair, issues that are common for male (and female) clientele . Hair looks so much thicker and less thin! 

The Shampoo & Conditioner are both amazing. As I'm always on the look-out to try different shampoos and conditioners this is one of the best systems I've tried. The Shampoo removed my build-up from products without making my hair feel dry and the conditioner you can actually feel while putting it into your hair that it's actually penetrating the shafts of your hair. My hair felt super thick when combing and blow-drying. 

Before blow drying I lifted up the crown of my hair and sprayed the Volumizing Spray Mousse and it's not really sticky and it doesn't feel like it weighs down your hair which is nice. The mousse can be used to add all over volume, lift a the root or scrunch dried to activate natural curl. I use it mainly for volume. 

I'm always on the look out for the best shampoos and conditioners and these are wonderful. I can feel a change in my hair texture and I love that it feels thicker, though easy to manage.
