Ready To Get Back To Work! (Hospital Blog)

READY TO GET BACK TO WORK!
(HOSPITAL BLOG)

Hello everyone!,
There are not enough words to thank everyone who has sent kind words, thoughts/prayers, and positive vibes my way from companies to my friends/viewers here on Just A Country Gal. As many of you know I have Chronic Myeloid Leukemia which has landed me in and out of the hospital. I have gone through some rough times in the past 5-6 months. I've dealt with anemia, mini-strokes, and horrible pain from my chemotherapy. My chemo has been very taxing on my body. I became very weak months back and ended up in the hospital attached to IV's and having meds given to me left and right. I could barely walk or lift my head. I don't want to go into everything that's happened in there because it was very scary for me. I literally thought I was going to die. I'm not one to complain a lot and I try my best to fight. I try to put off my illness's as much as possible because well I absolutely HATE the hospital. I don't want to go if I don't have to. It's safe to say that most people are in the same boat as me and hate the hospital as well.

I've been in severe depression in these past couple of months not only because of everything that's happened in and out of the hospital. My chemo has had some very bad side effects and one of those is tooth decay. While I was in the hospital my teeth became much, much worse. I went from having perfect zero cavity teeth to my teeth becoming incredibly bad and dealing with intense pain. The Dr's tried everything they could to save my teeth, but unfortunately I have to have all of them removed. A lot of people are embarrassed to talk about these types of things when it comes to cancer and what chemotherapy does to you, but this was one topic I had to get off my chest. I've been crying everyday over this. The pain has been unbearable. I have to go soon and have all of my teeth cut out and be fit for dentures. I'm 28 years old and I'll now be a denture wearer. I now know it's nothing to be ashamed of, but it's been a hard thing to deal with. I know a lot of people are embarrassed as well when these things happen to them because they're afraid of what people might think of them. That was my position too. I was worried that people would look at me and think "She must be on drugs.. look at her teeth!". That was my fear of what people would think. I wish that you could look at a person and know their struggles with health so that in this society people wouldn't judge you.

With that being said Id like to take this opportunity to talk to you about Chronic Myeloid Leukemia struggles and what you can do to help me out. There are so many Cancer diagnosis's out there right now and it's sad. There are people that are worse off than me. There are people that need help. As for some of the things I've mentioned above you can see what chemo and my cancer does to me.. imagine what others go through. My Grandpa had Prostate and Bladder cancer and he was my rock. He died 5 years ago and it was one of the hardest times of my life. The struggles I've seen him go through was far worse than my struggles. He was always there for me when I was at Dr's appointments, surgeries, and whatever my problems were.. he was there to hold my hand/give me a BIG hug. I know a lot of my viewers out there have people in their lives who have/had cancer or maybe they themselves are dealing with cancer. There are so many things you can do for cancer patients. You could donate, volunteer, spend some time with them while they're doing chemo treatments, do marathons, do walks, ext. If you have the feeling that you want to help please do research on what you can do to help my fellow survivors/fighters out. I will post some links of things you can research and do to help. I would like to talk about what you could do specifically for my cancer CML among other Leukemia diagnosis's. You can be tested and join "Be The Match". You may be asking.. "What's That?". (Be The Match) has been around for a while now and it is a program that is completely FREE. Everything from shipping to the kit is FREE. They will send you a kit that contains a swab.. kind of like a Q-Tip. All you have to do is swab the inside of your cheek for a couple of seconds and then it's done. You can send it off and you may be called saying that you're a match. What does that mean when you are a match to another person(A Leukemia Patient)? That means YOU could save their life.

A lot of people think that you have to go through incredible pain to help during these types of programs to help a cancer patient, but you do not. The pain is very minimal. Have you ever got punched in the hip? That is the pain you'd feel. The feel of a slight punch in the hip. That feeling would only last 2-3 days if that. What id like to ask is can you wage the that feeling of pain over saving someone's life?

You could save someone. You may not know that person, but if you've had a family member dealing with this horrible disease and you've wished you could help them.. this may not help them directly, but it is saving a life. Foundations like this are begging people to come forward - to be brave and be a hero! This would mean so much to me if you would sign up to "Be The Match".

There are so many people out there who are out of remission.. including me. There are some people who are medication resistant who cannot take chemo because it no longer works and are waiting for people like you to step up and save them. There are so many people that will die this year of my horrible disease as well as other types of Leukemia because they will not find a donor.

Here is the link to "Be The Match"!

Here is one of my fellow fighters on Good Mythical Morning I've recently watched who has the exact same cancer type as I. He is medication resistant and they will show the process in which you would go through when you receive the kit.

Here is the link to the American Cancer Society so you can do research and find out things you can do for your loved one with cancer or what you can do in general for those who are going through this rough time.

American Cancer Society: https://www.cancer.org/

Id like to thank you all AGAIN who've sent kind words, prayers, and thoughts my way through this hard time in my life. It's meant SOOO much to me. You have no idea. Thank you for listening and reading my post. Thank you for letting me rant to you all on occasion.

There will be upcoming blog posts very soon and I can't wait to get back into letting you know what I think of products. Thank you for being patient.

Much love and appreciation, Sarah

FREE Clothing From Schoola!

FREE Clothing From Schoola

Shop at Schoola for Women's, Junior's, Boy's, and Girl's clothing. Schoola offers both NEW & used clothing on their website. I've shopped with Schoola for a year now and I've been pleased with everything I've purchased. One of the best things about Schoola is that you can choose your school of choice to donate to when you order. You may also donate your own clothing towards Schoola to help with your local schools as well.

NEW members get a 50% off coupon code when joining! Be sure to check your email for the code after joining.

I know what you may be thinking.. where does the FREE money and clothing come into play?

Well, first you want to join here and yes it's free to join.

You need to join first before going to this second link to build your collection. So, once you've signed up to get a free $10 to spend you can "Create A Collection" by adding the name of your collection. Then by adding the sizes, brands, and colors you like. Once you complete this task you will receive $10 to spend on Schoola. Some of the clothing run very cheap so you may find an item or even two for that price. Also, keep in mind that for every person you refer you get $10 as well. So you refer a friend you get $10 AND your friend gets $10 as well so that's $20 to spend!

Here is the link to create your own collection: Schoola Collection Link

Now when you've placed your order they will ask for your credit card information and it's has been completely safe for me to use. I've used it dozens of times with no issue. They will not charge you shipping on the money you've earned as long as you count the shipping in with your earned money. So if you have $10 and your item is $2.99 plus $5.00 shipping you will use $6.99 of your money you've earned so that will make it absolutely FREE.

This website has really helped my family out in getting clothing for my cousins for School this year. We've bought name brand clothing that's in great quality. The clothing has all come with tags new or used. My cousin's love the clothes. It's a really frugal way of shopping. I know a lot of people are cautious when using their debit/credit card and that's completely understandable. If something is free you want to make sure it's free and they do NOT charge you. Schoola has never charged me on anything on the money I've earned and have calculated in with my shipping costs. I've used my coupon code and gotten even better discounts on larger orders and yes you can use your 50% off coupon with your money you've earned through creating a collection and through referrals.

I really hope you all try this website and if you do show me what you got on my facebook page! I love seeing what deals you all get.

I have a little girl that loves this device. She plays on it all day. She & I have been testing out the Little Scholars Tablet + accessories. When we first got it we opened it up, took off the protective cover, and started it up. We waited for it to load and it took a little bit for it to load up all of the information because it wasn't fully charged. We couldn't wait to charge it so we waited. It took about a minute or so to load everything up. We set it up and began to play. We love all of it's features. It comes with over 150 pre-loaded apps one in which she loves the best which is "Puzzle It Out". We also enjoy watching "Charlie and Company" videos. What I love most is that it has a report card feature so that you can monitor how well your child is exceeding in the learning apps. Another plus is there is no credit cards needed, no registration, no apps to download, no advertisements, and best of all no need to worry that your little one is going to see something you wouldn't want them to see. Once the system is fully charged it runs quick and smoothly gliding through apps, watching videos, and listening to the pre-loaded musical numbers. Skill building include: Letters, numbers, shapes, patterns, counting, math, letter sounds, matching, critical thinking, problem solving, hand-eye coordination and more. When you are doing well with the programs the tablet says "Great Job!" which encourages any child to be happy and proud of themselves that they are learning something new! It's always good to keep your child working their minds as the first 10 years of a child's life is most crucial to learning. All in all I think this is a great investment for your kids. Schoolzone Learning Supplies

These Schoolzone workbooks and flashcards were so much fun to watch my girl sit and play. She sat and drew for hours trying to guess the right answers and she got most of them right, but I sat with her and quizzed her. Only because she demanded it! Haha. I kept going through the books and cards and she wouldn't stop until she got it right. These workbooks and cards are so colorful and very well illustrated so that children will be more drawn near to these. I know from personal experience! I know a lot of teachers use Schoolzone workbooks in their classes. So I definitely would recommend. Head out to Meijer Store's to find the Little Scholars Supplies!

Rogaine for Women Review

Rogaine for Women Review

Facts about Female Hair Loss & Thinning Hair

Did you know that the average woman is born with about 100,000 hair follicles on her head-and she keeps them for the rest of her life? Most women lose between 50 and 100 hairs a day. If your hair is healthy, it will grow back on its own. But if you're one of the 30 million women in America who experiences hereditary hair loss, you may be losing 150 hairs or more a day-hair that doesn't grow back as thick and healthy as it once was. You may notice more hair on your brush, in your sink, or in the shower drain. As your hair begins to look thinner, it may become a challenge to style your hair.

What causes hair loss?

Although there are many conditions, diseases, and hair care practices that can result in female thinning hair and excessive hair loss, hereditary hair loss accounts for the majority of hair loss. Women's hair loss is different from men's because it's more diffused. Hair loss can also be a symptom of stress, pregnancy, and the taking of certain medications. This is important to know because Women's ROGAINE Topical Solution is the first FDA-approved treatment for hereditary hair loss in women.

My Impression: I have been using Rogaine for about 2 months now. I myself have been having massive amounts of hair shedding and loss. It had been scaring me badly. I had went to my obgyn for a regular check-up when I mentioned it to her and how I was afraid. She said that my birth control could be a contributing factor or stress - if it continued to get worse she said I may have female pattern loss which devastated me. She recommended Rogaine for me to try so thankfully Rogaine let me try out their program. I started using Rogaine twice a day on the areas that were thinning. It's only been two months, but what I've noticed is not a major growth in where my hair loss is, but a major growth in baby hair all over! So, that's a start. My hair I've noticed hasn't been falling out as much, but I'm looking forward and hoping for even more growth. I've been doing the no heat challenge to let my hair breathe. My hair loss is so bad I've resorted to wearing topper pieces to help let my hair rest and it's given me my confidence back. So as far as Rogaine goes I've noticed some definite results - I'm thinking about picking up the mouse I've seen. All in all if you have light to moderate thinning I would recommend Rogaine for Women.

My hair naturally - The thinning is the worst in the front - the back of my hair is pretty thick - just the top is thinning.

You can find Rogaine at stores like Walmart, Target, Amazon, Drugstore.com, CVS, and Rite Aid.

You can also sign up to be apart of the Rogaine for Women Program where you can save a lot of money by signing up for their shipments to where you get a 4 month shipment of Rogaine for $59.99 every 4 months plus special offers and more savings.

Jillian Michaels Hard Body Work-out DVD Review

Jillian Michael's Hard Body

PRODUCT DETAILS

Are you ready to take your body to the next level?! Jillian Michaels 'Hard Body' is the most effective total body workout for torching calories and transforming your entire physique. 'Hard Body' is comprised of two (2) 45 minute, body blasting workouts that progress in difficulty. These quick paced routines have fun, fresh, new moves to deliver an incredible workout and turn your body into a lean and sexy high performance machine. Jillian also shows modifications for both beginners and advanced athletes in each workout. Get the Hard Body you've always wanted! Run time approx: 96 minutes Region 1

My Impression: I have been a big Jillian Michaels fan for a long time. I used to weight 300lbs. and while doing my work-outs I would walk and then incorporate her work-outs along with others into my routine so that I would not get bored. I have her Boost Metabolism DVD and love it - she does kick-boxing and that is one of my favorite work-outs! I got the chance to try out Jillian's new DVD 'Hard Body' and I'm impressed and wore-out! Her work-outs are intense, but not so intense that you can't do them. She gives you alternative moves if you cannot do the harder work-outs then you have a choice which is something I like as a heavier person. I've been taking it easy with doing the work-outs - I'm doing the work-outs a little more and more each day. Don't automatically give up on yourself if you can't do the whole work-out DVD in one day. Take it easy! The only quaft that annoys me is that the DVD is fast paced and the fact that I am overweight and need to drink about a gallon of water a day I get pretty thirsty during work-outs and I want to drink lots of water, but there isn't much of breaks in between work-out positions so that's the only thing I would change, but all I do now is just pause in between if I need to drink water. All in all I love it just as much as her other DVD's I own. I love that she has some good weight training in the DVD - I'm learning to use weights and to build more muscle. I know one thing Id say to Jillian is 'I hate BURPEES!' and if you've never done a work-out of hers then you probably don't know what I'm talking about, but if you do then you probably hate them too! It's a full-body work-out and when you've drank a ton of water it really gets your belly moving when you do them. In all seriousness I am hoping to lose even more weight this Summer and it's great to have an array of DVD's so you don't get bored - that's what I do.

Nutrisystem Week 2 Update

Nutrisystem Week 2 Update

Hi and hope everyone had a great week! Mine has been kind of hectic. I've been out to my parents house helping them earlier this week and I brought about a couple days worth of Nutrisystem food which is not good at my house because my Mother likes to fix 'Klump' meals if you've ever seen the movie 'The Nutty Professor' then you know what I'm talking about. At the first of the week id been doing Jillian Michaels work-outs and being  active - then I got into a tired spell. Of course, I had surgery on my bladder and that could be why I was so tired - my kidneys and everything were kind of being a pain! I lost 2lbs. this week which I was surprised by. Still, a loss is better than no loss. I can't wait til it warms up outside so I can go hiking to get my mind off of a lot of things going on in my life. I find that when I get outside and walk or hike it just clears my mind. Where I live it's been cold, rainy, and snowing. I put in my new food order which should be arriving this week so I'll do an open box for it because last time I was a newbie and messed up my order so I'll be getting all kinds of different foods in besides duplicates. I'm excited to try new foods! I've been kind of bad on my water intake this week so I really need to push the fluids especially being sick and all. I don't know what it is about being sick, but pushing fluids is like the last thing you want to do isn't it? I'm hoping next week will be a better week and that HOPEFULLY I get my groove and energy back.

Until then...

February Nutrisystem Week 1 Review

Nutrisystem Week 1

Hi everybody! As you know from my 'More Changes Coming Soon' blog post you know that I am starting/started Nutrisystem. So far it's been a week now and that time for me to update you on how my week has been - how I'm doing and so on which I will continue to do each week while on this program.

This week has been really fun actually. I got my food in about a week and a half ago - set my date to start so it's been full week. I've really enjoyed the food.

When the food came in:

Here are some of my favorites and meals of this week!

ALL WERE SO GOOD!

I loved encorporating my own favorites to the meals. The hardest part of this week has been drinking the water. I'm not used to drinking so much water so needless to say I don't have much of a taste for it unless I'm working-out. I bought some of the flavoring drops to put in the water to give it a kick every now and then. I've been doing Jillian Michael's dvd work-outs with this system and it's indeed making my muscles sore! I love the chocolate shakes in the morning - I feel they keep me from getting super hungry like I used to through-out the day. I've had to take it slow with working-out to my own pace, but all in all I've followed my diet with Nutrisystem strictly. I've loved pretty much everything I've tried - even foods I've said I've hated for years. I love the fact that some of the foods have a spicy taste to them like the chicken pot pie I had the night before last - I thought this is probably going to be bland, but no - not at ALL. It had bell peppers in it with a kick of spices and the breaded crust to go on top I crushed up into the chicken pot pie and oh my gosh - HEAVEN!

I'm really loving the program - so far this week I've lost 5lbs. An inch off of my arms, thighs, and hips. Oddly I gained an inch above my breasts and waist. So, I'm not sure if that's Mother Nature doing her work on me or maybe where I've been lifting weights I'm not really sure, but I can tell a difference. I've felt super tired this week from trying my best to be active, but I know that will soon change because I've been through working out before if you haven't in a while then you get out of shape and I am really out of shape! I haven't worked out in about 6 months besides walking and such so I was in serious need of conditioning.

I'm hoping I will see more great results next week until then...
