I received the Magic Baby Bullet and I've been really enjoying it. I've made all sorts of foods for my babies. This product is truly a life saver on food and money! I've made more baby food out of little food and ending up having a lot to fill the pods up enough for two days worth of food. You can even make more to fill up the bigger pods to make food for a week. We've made all kinds of food ranging from blueberries and peas. The mixture above is blueberries and peas. We put them in the tray that looks like an ice-tray to freeze them so we could take them out and thaw them out in the microwave to serve. It was easy to use - we just filled the cup up with blueberries, ice, and a little bit of water - Then we put the bladed lid on top and put it on the mixing stand. We pushed down when we wanted it to mix. We used small pulses to get the right mixture we wanted. I like that I can make healthier food for my children and not too processed. I tested all of the food before giving it to my children. It was really good. The food tasted much better than regular store bought baby food. We've even used it to make little smoothies for my husband and I. So, it's just not only for babies, but it's strong enough to handle smoothies and shakes as well if you so choose to make one. I love all of the storage it comes with - the 1 batch tray with 1 lid and the 6 date dial tray. I really like how the 6 date dial trays have the twist dial dates that way I can put which date I put them in the fridge. I can keep a better eye on the dates to know when they are good or when they've gone bad. We switch them out pretty regularly so they never really have gone bad for us, but you have that option of added security. I really believe if you had any doubts about the Magic Baby Bullet DON'T - GO FOR IT!

About NutriBullet University

In 2013, NutriBullet launched a pilot program at University High School in Los Angeles. Through the program, dubbed NutriBullet University, they donated NutriBullets and a grant to provide fresh produce for the students to make a NutriBlast each school day for 90 days. They ran health assessments on the students both before and after the program, and the results were remarkable. Students lowered their cholesterol levels; trimmed, on average, one inch from their waistlines; and reported having more energy at school.

This spring, three more schools enrolled in NutriBullet University. Seward Middle School in Seward, Alaska; El Verano Elementary in Sonoma, California; and River Road High School in Amarillo, Texas launched 90-day programs, with NutriBullet providing everything the students needed to make a tasty, nutritious smoothie each school day. Each month of the program, the recipes changed to ramp up the vegetables included in the daily NutriBlasts. The students gradually got used to healthier smoothies, packed with green veggies. When the three programs wrapped up in May, the results were as impressive as the pilot program’s:
  • 23 percent of participants decreased their total cholesterol, while 59 percent improved their HDL (good) cholesterol, both of which lead to a reduced risk of heart disease.
  • 11 percent of the students reduced plaque in their blood vessels.
  • 36 percent of participants increased their vegetable intake.
  • 76 percent felt more empowered to make healthy behavioral changes and 41 percent felt more able to control their own health via diet and exercise.

This fall, additional NutriBullet University programs will lauch at schools in Lecanto, Florida and Los Angeles, and NutriBullet will open up the application process for additional schools to join NutriBullet University in 2016. For more information on how your kids’ schools can get involved, keep an eye on NutriBulletUniversity.com or follow the program on FacebookTwitter and Instagram.

Mantry April 2015 Subscription Box

Mantry Subscription Box

Cost: $75/month
Ships To: United States

Mantry is a food of the month club that lets you discover the finest american artisan foods – and gives you ideas of what to do with them.

What came in April 2015's box?
I think it was Taco Box Bound because so many of the products go great with Tacos and who doesn't love Tacos?

Deano's Jalapeno's Sea Salt
Price: $4.49
These were so good, but yet so spicy. We liked it though. I could only eat one because they were too spicy for me, but my husband now he loves spicy and this bag was gone in no time. They have a crunch layer and they have a hint of Sea Salt to give it enough flavor to light up the taste buds. These can be good with a lot of things. We used them on our pizza's and crunched up in our tacos!

Price: $8.00
The signature, all–natural, spicy habanero condiment.
A deliciously spicy blend of carrots, habanero peppers, onions, garlic, tangerine juice, and lime juice.
This sauce goes well with just about any food you can think of.
This Condiment was really good and also spicy, but wasn't so spicy that I was sweating - it had all the right flavors and was great spreading on top of my taco in replace of the taco sauce. It definitely made taco night a treat!

Price: $8.00
These pickled red onions add a taste punch to any dish. These flavorful pale pink beauties have a good pickled crisp and a balances sweet and sour flavor.
Ingredients: red onions, apple cider vinegar, sugar, water, spices, kosher salt
Pernicious Pickling Co. makes deliciously creative pickles in Costa Mesa, CA using premium, all-natural ingredients. All pickles are vegan, gluten-free, and contain no preservatives. 16oz
I love Onions and especially red onions. It's true they are sweet & sour, but we loved it. We mixed them in our tacos and in our chili as well and my oh my were they great!

Price: $8.99
Our Mexican Hot Chocolate walnuts are roasted with extra rich cocoa, organic cinnamon, organic sugar and organic cayenne. Mostly sweet, with a touch of spice.
These are good for a snack when you are hungry and need something to munch on. They were a little bit spicy, but with chocolate goodness. I love anything chocolate!

Price: $7.99
Our tamest flavor, the traditional Mojo offers hints of lime, cilantro, garlic and cumin while bringing out the great beef flavor of our handmade jerky.  A perfect snack for the member of the family that might not like it on the spicy side.
This was our favorite hit in our house. We love Jerky! This Savage Jerky Co. Mojo Jerky was delicious. You could taste a hint of the lime, but it wasn't overwhelming. It was just right! We are definitely going to pick up some more!

Price: $8.99
Hernan's Mole Poblano is a blend of 28 chilies and spices balanced by nuts, chocolate, raisins, piloncillo (Mexican unrefined cane sugar), and other natural ingredients. A quintessential Mexican dish, Mole Poblano traditionally involves a laborious and time intensive process that Hernan has made accessible with their product. Created by nuns in a convent in colonial Mexico, the first Mole Poblano was put together in a hurry for a surprise visit by the archbishop. The nuns, frantic to impress their guest, ground and mixed together whatever ingredients they found in their cupboards. The resulting sauce was poured over a turkey to the archbishop’s delight. Today, Mole Poblano continues to be revered for its complex and robust flavors, and served on special occasions in Mexico.Crafted in Mexico from 100% natural ingredients, Hernan’s product is made using traditional roasting and grounding methods that result in a thick spicy mole paste. The paste is presented in a 7.2 ounce jar – enough to use for a whole chicken. It can easily be combined with broth or water and in 4-8 minutes ready to serve with poultry, roasted pork, fish, grilled vegetables, and as enchilada sauce. Also recommended over huevos rancheros, or as empanada and tamale filling.
We used this like it was meant to be used we tried it in the recipe with broth and boiled us up some chicken to make chicken noodle soup and it was so delicious and a little goes a long way.

I just love Mantry - This month was definitely a Man's box although I loved a lot of the products. What I love the most is that Mantry comes packaged in a beautiful crate. I'm using it for decoration right now since my home is decorated as an Americana theme. The products were so good. I totaled it up for the products to be worth $46.46 not counting the beautiful packaged crate they came in. Also the packaging and shipping is included. It is well worth the money if you are into creating new recipes and trying new foods! I know my family loves trying new foods and recipes. We would have never thought to combine these products into our Taco nights, but boy were they good! I just can't get over how good the Jerky was. The box came swiftly so they ship them out in no time at all. The customer service is very nice.

Bodum Chambord French Press Review & Giveaway

Bodum Chambord French Press Review

The reason the French press coffee maker has become  one of the most popular coffee makers in the world is pure and simple.....taste. The materials are completely taste-free so nothing comes between your ground coffee beans. This is exactly the reason why coffee tasters use this method to determine the quality of coffee beans. The 3-part stainless steel plunger has a fine mesh filter, which allows for a premium extraction of your coffee’s aromatic oils and subtle flavors. A mesh filter allows this flavor to be delivered direct to your cup and not absorbed by a paper filter. Plus, no paper filter means no excess paper waste.

My Impression: I received this beautiful bodum chambord french press coffee maker and I have to tell you I had to read the instructions quite a few times to understand it, but once I studied the french press - I understood and then it was off to making my first batch of FRESH coffee! Now, I'm not a regular coffee drinker, but my Mom is so I did this whilst I was with her. She was amazed by this coffee maker because she had seen them before, but never up close to marvel at how they actually work and how beautiful the design is of the device. We then put in our Folders coffee you know because the best part of waking up is Folders in your cup and of course a bodum coffee maker! We used two scoops.. Now I know that Folders isn't probably the best to use because it's a more finely milled coffee and a french press calls for a more coarse coffee, but that's all we had at the moment so we went with it. So, we then boiled our water and poured it on top of the coffee - mind you: Do all of this with the pieces out of the jar to where it's just the jar you are putting your ingredients in. You don't want to put the pressing tool in yet. Once the water was poured in you then want to stir the coffee a bit. It's important that the filter doesn't touch any of the coffee if possible. Let the coffee steep for about 4 minutes. After about 4 minutes I began to press holding on to the lid and pushing down on the nozzle to start the process of getting excellent coffee. Now you can also froth your milk for your coffee by doing the same process by pouring warm milk into the jar - placing the lid with press on top of the jar let sit for a bit and then press for some frothy goodness. The picture below is of our resulted coffee. I have to say not being a coffee drinker I could distinguish the taste between using this different method. The coffee is more rich and flavorful. It feels as though it is thicker in taste because of the pressing motion as though it's frothy as well. I'm really impressed with this coffee maker and plan to make some more decaf lattes soon.

Bodum was nice enough to let me do a giveaway for you all so one winner will win a Bodum French Press of their own! Yay!

Ozeri 10'' Stainless Steel Earth Pan Review

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial
. Ozeri 10'' Earth Pan Review

Featuring ETERNA -- a safe and natural non-stick developed in the USA, the Stainless Steel Earth Pan by Ozeri is the world's only stainless steel frying pan to achieve non-stick perfection without using PFOA -- a harmful chemical used in all traditional cookware. Conventional pans achieve their non-stick performance with the aid of PFOA (PerFluoroOctanoic Acid), which the EPA has classified as a 'persistent pollutant of the environment'. According to the EPA, once ingested PFOA is capable of remaining in people for a very long time, and has been shown to cause developmental and other adverse effects in laboratory animals. With the Stainless Steel Earth Pan's ETERNA coating, even under high temperatures, no harmful substances are ever released into the environment. This is because the Stainless Steel Earth Pan utilizes a completely safe and environmentally-friendly coating developed in the USA. The Stainless Steel Earth Pan's non-stick coating is completely free of PFOA, and far more durable and scratch-resistant than other non-stick surfaces. With better non-stick properties, the Stainless Steel Earth Pan Earth Pan allows you to saute, fry, bake, boil and braise with as little as half the amount of oil normally used, and cleaning is a breeze. The Stainless Steel Earth Pan by Ozeri is made of the highest quality 18/8 stainless steel with TriPly construction, delivering the ultimate in heat conductivity for even cooking and browning without hot spots. It boasts a magnetized bottom for rapid heat transfer on induction stoves, and a polished mirror exterior. Your satisfaction is guaranteed. ETERNA coating made by Whitford USA. Pan assembled in China.

My Impression:

I love the Ozeri Stainless Steel Earth Non-Stick line. It makes my life so much easier not to have to scrub so much on pans. Say if you have left-overs you need to get out of the pan it will slip right out into your overnight bowls. It's 10'' so it's large enough to make a large meal which is another thing I love about this frying pan. A lot of the times you will find frying pans that look like they would make enough food for one field mouse, but this pan is entirely different. I love how the bottoms of the pans are so secure so that heat distributes evenly and is able to warm up a lot faster than my other pans. I do find that even though I do not have to scrub a lot I still do need to apply a spray before cooking because it's not that it sticks to the pan - the food flakes off, but it does settle in the pan, but if you are looking for a great non-stick pan Id say this would be your best bet. They also have them in smaller sizes if need be, but these are truly the best!

Spinach Balls Recipe Using Allen's Popeye Spinach

Spinach Balls Recipe Using Allen's Popeye Spinach

What You'll Need
Some things aren't pictured I used - I forgot to place them in the picture. Sorry!

  • 1/2 cup of melted: Butter

  • 1 10 ounces of : Allen's Popeye Spinach or Frozen Spinach

  • 3 Eggs (beaten)

  • 1/2 cup: Parmesan Cheese (preferably grated)

  • 2 cups: Herbed Stuffing - I used Pepperidge Farm

  • Pinch of: Salt

  • 1 tsp of Italian Seasoning

  • 2 tsp Garlic Powder

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C)

In a large bowl combine spinach, stuffing mix, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, black pepper, Italian seasoning, melted butter and eggs.

Shape into walnut-sized balls and place on a baking sheet.
Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until heated through and browned.

You can moderate this recipe to your liking - I fiddle around with it from time to time trying different things. Allen's sponsored me to do a review by sending me a coupon for one of their products and I opted for this recipe. The spinach was really good and I would recommend :)

Melt Buttery Spread Organic Review

Melt Spread Organic Review

About Melt Organic from Melt's Website

Rich & Creamy Melt® Organic was recently featured on the nationally syndicated Dr. Oz show (http://www.meltbutteryspread.com/dr-oz/) as a healthier alternative to butter and is made with “good” fats!  Melt® Organic is made with the Perfect Blend™ of fruit and plant based organic oils – virgin coconut, flax seed, high oleic sunflower, palm fruit and canola – that are carefully chosen and optimally blended to be good for you!  Each variety is certified organic, kosher, gluten-free, soy free, non-GMO, and fair trade.

Melt® Organic sizzles, drizzles, cooks, bakes and melts just like butter but with half the saturated fat and fewer calories. That means you can use both Melt and Honey Melt in all of your favorite recipes.  Please visit our recipe pages for ways that our Melt fans have baked and cooked with our products (http://www.meltbutteryspread.com/tips-recipes/recipes-main/). Best of all, Rich & Creamy Melt® Organic is deliciously creamy with just a hint of coconut flavor (yum!). Honey Melt® is naturally sweeter with organic wildflower honey and cinnamon for just 1 gram of sugar per serving.  Say Goodbye to Butter, Say Hello to Melt® - the luscious butter improvement that is truly good for you.

My Impression: I am a butter-o-holic. I love butter. I'm like Paula Deen. Unfortunately, too much butter is not great for the body so I was in search for a healthier alternative when I came across MELT. I've tried low-fat butters - to different types all having such an odd and awful taste, but I was really excited to try Melts Buttery Spread both in the Organic Original and Honey Melt. I made waffles up above and added the Honey Melt on top and it tasted amazing. It was like fresh honey with a blend of cinnamon. Very delicious! I also love stir-fry vegetables - I find they are easy to make for a snack and I love just a hint of butter on my broccoli - not much, but some so I decided to go ahead and try the Organic Original one and I could really taste just a hint of the coconut oil, but it was really good as well. I cook with coconut oil sometimes in my stir-fry so the taste was no stranger to me, but I really love that both weren't bland and didn't have a chemically taste to them if you know what I mean. They tasted natural and I didn't feel guilty about eating it either. I've heard the Honey Melt is great with apples so I might try that out and I imagine it would since cinnamon apples taste so well together. I see a future steamed apple recipe in my future!

The Taste: Tuesday at 8/7c on ABC

The Taste

I was recently told about The Taste by Influenster. It's a new show out 'a cooking show' of course, but more of a contest type of cooking show which I like. I'm used to watching Cupcake Wars and other hard hitting cut-throat cooking shows so learning about this show was right up my alley and cut-throat it is with it's tad bits of drama. Four Chefs have their own teams in which have to compete in tasks they are given with certain ingredients and the judges have to choose the best dish - those who don't succeed in making that best dish could go home. They have tension filled eliminations.

I get mainly into cooking shows to expand my cooking capabilities. I've always loved cooking - taking something out of the kitchen when we had hardly any food and making something out of nothing! That's a cook.

Even though this show does not showcase that type of love I have for cooking - I still love the devotion and determination behind the concept of fighting 'cooking' to the death!

I recently watched the newest episode which you can watch live here at ABC: Here

You can check out The Tastes Media Outlets
