YesterYearSoap Review

YesterYearSoap

What Makes YesterYear Soap "Natural" Soap?
Surprisingly, there is no clear definition of 'Natural'. However, we take a common sense approach to the term. Quite simply, we add no artificial substances to our soaps, such as dyes, parabins and preservatives, and where possible, we use organically grown products.  Our products contain no detergents, alcohol's, propylene glycol and other chemicals commonly found in commercially blended 'soap'. To really see what we mean, take a look at the labels of so called 'soap' at the supermarket the you next time you go to the store and compare them to the ingredients of our soaps.  Your skin will know the difference.

What Gives Our Soap It's Fragrance?

Our fragrance oils are either essential oils or blends of natural aroma components that are created to smell like the real thing. Many of our fragrance oils are blended from essential oils, but because they are not guaranteed to be 100% essential oil they are called fragrance oils.

What Makes Our Soap Better?

A good bar soap balances bar hardness (durability), lather quality (both fluffiness and stability), and moisturizing ability. These different properties come from the different fatty acids that make up molecules of the  vegetable oils we use as the base of our soap. Unfortunately, the fatty acids that are moisturizing are not those that contribute much to lather quality, and the ones that make great lather are drying to our skin. A perfect bar soap is the result of carefully balancing the fatty acids to maximize the bar's hardness, lather quality, and moisturizing ability.

Why Use Natural Soap?

Because sometimes the simplest solutions are the best. Why use complicated, harsh chemicals when you can capture the nutritive powers of plants, herbs, botanical extracts and essential oils to enhance health and deliver vital nutrients?
Your body exists in a delicate balance which must be maintained and protected for proper health and vitality. Using beneficial and natural ingredients in your personal care routine is the first step in ensuring that your system is not overburdened. YesterYear is pleased to offer new alternatives to a more natural lifestyle.

My opinion: This is not a sudsy soap. It's more of a oil or gel feel. The smell is great. They are really beautiful soaps. I've only tried these three, but I can say I'm not a fan with ones with dye drops in them to make them look tie dyed because the color comes off when you are showering so where it's more of a oily gel feel it will stick to your skin and the color will sometimes stay which I thought to be odd. Using the tie dye color my entire bathtub water was green. The purple didn't do it as bad. I did notice that they shrink pretty fast when using so I don't know if that's where it is a natural soap and where they are made with different ingredients.
