- A little about FOAT Design -

Foat Design is a small, independent business, created and run by twin sisters, Kaja and Zoë Foat.  We are faithful students of yoga, and  are trained Jivamukti Yoga instructors.  Our two complementary lines-- Foat Couture, and Urban Yoga Wear--grew out of clothing that we created  for ourselves while pursuing yoga training in New York.  With working  backgrounds in art and fashion, the idea of making our clothing  available through an earth-conscious business came to us naturally. We opened the Foat Design Studio in  Minneapolis in 2002, and have been growing steadily ever since.

As a company, Foat Design is dedicated to making durable, functional,  and stylish products specifically for those who want to maintain a  healthy, earth-conscious lifestyle coupled with a modern, urban  life.  Our designs move comfortably in yoga class, and make a fashion  statement on the move.

My Impression: FOAT Design's 'Knicker Pants' are the most comfortable pairs of work-out clothes I've ever had in my life! They are so soft. Made with 95% cotton and 5% lycra. It's hard for me to find clothes to work-out in that will fit me properly because where I am losing weight they all fall off of me. So, I got these in an XL when I got them they looked like they would be too small, but they aren't at all they stretch and hug your body  - not in an unflattering way, but it really helped my stomach. It's hard for me to keep my stomach tighter and when you first put these pants on they have a high waist to them to where you can fold the top of the waist of the pants down for a more of a yoga type pant feel or you can flap them up onto your stomach so that your stomach has more support and that is exactly what I done. These aren't tight like other work-out pants I've worn. As you can see above at the bottom of the pants they have bows to where you can tie them in a knot above your knee or you can slide them down passed the knee if you want. I wear mine above the knee because I get hot easily. I noticed I didn't sweat much in these and they cleaned rather well. They didn't shrink much at all and as I said they stretch easily and keep their shape. FOAT designs clothing is all hand-made and that gives me a piece of mind knowing that they are done right and will last me. They aren't some factory made off the assembly line with bad stitching. I absolutely am in love with these. I would buy them in ever color and wear them everyday if I knew I wouldn't get looked at like a nut! Haha!
