About Sage + fasten

Sage + fasten was created by Vivian Lee. She is a long-time lover of scents, but lets get real scents are often times overpowering and overbearing - not something for today's business woman or even a Mom on the go. She wanted to create a fragrance that empowers the woman and not overpowers the user.

I was lucky enough to get to try out two
of her fragrances one in bottle form and one in solid form.

I received the bottle 'Common Sense' a cute name, but a fabulous fragrance.

The Inspiration:

True common sense cannot be bottled but we can all use a little reminder sometimes to listen to the little voice in our heads that grounds us and helps us navigate life’s chaotic moments. Our signature scent was inspired by Vivian’s mom, her go-to person for a dose of common sense, this scent is feminine, bright and a refreshing way to get thinking back on track, with delicate notes of orchid and lotus flower highlighted with fresh hints of sweet mango, crisp peach and juicy lychee.

I think that the notes are spot on - I first got the hint of a fruity smell which by the notes I discovered peach was what I was detecting. I'm very fond of peach. It's one of those scents I think is best suited for Spring/Summer, but for those who love florals/fruity scents all year round then this fragrance is one you'll have to check out! I switch up my scents a lot depending on my mood and this scent really does bring a light to your mood. Honestly, when you wake up and get ready you want to be walking out of the house smelling nice. It's more of a morning - day scent and is lovely through-out the day just to perk up the attitude thus giving you that empowering feeling!

Honest

The Inspiration:

Truth and honesty are the foundations of being your best, authentic self. Inspired by the tale of a young George Washington and the cherry tree, honest contains bursts of fresh cherry, and pear with warm accents of lily of the valley, vanilla and tonka to inspire you to live in truth and honesty every day.

style: floral, sweet + delicate

This is compact solid scent which reminds me of the compacts my Mother used to carry around when I was younger. It's funny how products and scents can bring back memories and this scent brings back great memories and reminds me of my Mom. It's sweet and delicate just as described and it does have a hint of cherry. Even though the compact solid form reminds me of what my Mother would pick up it's still very new and fresh. It's easily thrown into your purse and has a mirror for those touch ups during the day which I find is a nice touch. The fragrance solid is not oily, but goes on more of a firm gel to powder form.
